Founded in 2004 by Jackie Vizcocho-Dizon (who first named it "Vizcocho," later shortened to the catchier "Vizco's"), Vizco's Restaurant & Cake Shop set out to be known for a dessert uniquely from Baguio — and its strawberry shortcake, layered with cream and an abundance of fresh local strawberries, became exactly that. The flagship sits on Session Road in Porta Vaga Mall and pairs a Western-themed menu of affordable mains — its own fried chicken, Cordon Bleu, grilled chicken with mushroom sauce, Italian beef stew and Spanish caldereta, salpicao, fish fillet bercy, prawns and salmon, plus thin-crust pizzas served with rice — with a cake counter that also turns out strawberry tart, ube, mango, tres leches, red velvet, carrot and cheesecakes. The coffee is locally famous for being intensely strong, and lemonade, iced tea and shakes round out the drinks. The cakes and pastries are the reliable highlight. Whole cakes need three days' notice.
