Pizza Volante is a home-grown Baguio favorite and one of the city's most popular Italian-style pizzerias, set right along Session Road in the old Theatre Building. Spacious despite its narrow glass storefront, it spreads over two to three floors with a charming, old-school atmosphere — pink walls, framed pictures, quirky lighting — that long-time visitors find pleasantly nostalgic, like dining in a piece of Baguio history. Best of all, it's open 24 hours, making it a reliable stop for late-night cravings or an after-trip meal, and some regulars come simply for cocktails while people-watching from the windows. The menu is enormous and comfort-focused: pizzas (regular or thin crust, in four sizes) are the star, generously topped and well-priced, from familiar Kenny George, Maui (Hawaiian) and Pepperoni to the local Smoked Pork Etag, made Cordillera-style with the region's smoked native pork. Beyond pizza there's a long list of pastas (pesto, alfredo, bolognese, puttanesca, seafood), steaks grilled over lava rocks, grilled chicken, pork and lamb, salads and soups, sandwiches, waffles, all-day breakfast plates, milkshakes, house desserts like the Choco-Vanilla Affair and Mama Lou's Apple Pie, plus a full bar of beer, wine and cocktails and Benguet coffee. Reviewers consistently praise the pizzas (great cheese, good crust, fresh toppings) and the value, with the Etag pizza, Maui and Pizza Hanna among the favorites. Expect a wait at peak hours. There's no air-conditioning, in keeping with Baguio's cool climate. For pizza lovers and night owls, it remains a Baguio classic.
