Claim this listingPamana ("heirloom" or "legacy") is a Filipino heritage restaurant on the Igorot Stairs at Upper Session Road — beside Casa Vallejo and just below SM City Baguio — on the site of the old Barrio Fiesta. It opened on February 19, 2015, and is part of The Happy Concept Group, owned by chef-restaurateur Happy Ongpauco-Tiu, daughter of Barrio Fiesta owners Rod Ongpauco and Liberty Ilagan. The family's Barrio Fiesta became famous as the home of kare-kare (her grandmother's recipe) and crispy pata (which her father invented) — the very dishes Pamana is built around. The Baguio venue took over the old Barrio Fiesta building and runs three concepts at one table: Pamana for heritage Filipino food, Tsokolateria for Filipino cacao/tablea drinks and desserts, and a Hawaiian BBQ menu. Tsokolateria has only two branches in the country — here and in Tagaytay — so you can pair heirloom mains with traditional hot chocolate (the sweet "Tsokolate Ah" and the thicker, bittersweet "Tsokolate Eh"), churros waffles, and bibingka from the same seat. The space is roomy and ancestral-home in feel, with family photographs, Igorot-themed statuary on the café side, and city views that are best in daytime. Pamana's menu spans Filipino regional favorites — kare-kare with bagoong, crispy pata, bagnet, grilled fish in banana leaf, Cebu-style lechon roll — alongside Ilocano pakbet and dinengdeng, Bicol laing and express, sisig, bulalo, and the popular Lumpia Trio. Portions are generous and family-size, meant for sharing, and rice meals come with black mountain (Igorot) rice. It is a comfortable choice for groups, families, and dates. Prices are on the higher side, service can be unhurried, and dine-in is the better experience than delivery; but for heritage Filipino cooking with a chocolate-café twist in a memorable setting, it is a Baguio mainstay.
