Claim this listingLuisa's Cafe is a Chinese-Filipino restaurant on Session Road in Baguio, open since 1957 and one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Named after the family matriarch, it started on Carantes Street before moving to its current spot beside Rumours Bar. The restaurant has two floors linked by a traditional dumbwaiter that carries food up from the ground-floor kitchen, a plain and old-fashioned interior with lazy Susans on the tables, and artwork displayed on the second floor (the ground floor tends to get faster service). The food is Chinese-Filipino comfort food: the best-known dishes are the mami (noodle soup with handmade noodles, made fresh daily — the kitchen also supplies noodles to other restaurants), the siopao, and Luisa's Rice. The brewed coffee is popular with locals, and beer is available. The wider à la carte menu covers rice toppings, soups, vegetables, pork, beef, chicken, seafood, egg dishes, and tofu. Portions are large and prices are low, with most diners spending around ₱200–400 per person. Long popular with local journalists, it became more widely known after a feature by Erwan Heussaff. Service can be slow during busy hours, and parking on Session Road is difficult, so walking is recommended.
