Claim this listingL'Atelier Du Grain ("The Grain Workshop") is, by broad consensus, the finest French bakery in Baguio — a genuine boulangerie-patisserie on Military Cut-Off Road (a two-minute walk from Seollem Cafe, near Panagbenga Park) headed by French pastry chef Didier, who has nearly 50 years of experience. Everything is made from scratch using traditional techniques and quality ingredients (croissants laminated with creamy Charentes-Poitou butter), and Chef Didier bakes in small batches throughout the day, so pastries are more likely to be fresh when you arrive. The viennoiserie is the headline: flaky, nicely chewy, properly buttery butter croissants, almond croissants, pain au chocolat, strawberry-pistachio croissants, and a kouign-amann that reviewers call the most elegant expression of the pastry they've had. Beyond that there are tarts and cheesecakes (the strawberry-white-chocolate cheesecake tart is a runaway favorite; also walnut-honey, lemon meringue, mango, ube, and the locally inflected Benguet Cappuccino tart made with Benguet coffee, plus a rhubarb-cheesecake-passionfruit), madeleines, sweet loaves and danishes, sourdough and focaccia breads, and seasonal specialties like German Stollen at Christmas. It's primarily a grab-and-go: the shop itself is small and quaint with a glass window onto the bakers at work and a few seats outside, but there's a more spacious dine-in area at the partner restaurant upstairs where you can order coffee and meals (note it may open later than the 8 AM bakery). Practical notes: there's a ₱500 minimum order (cards accepted, which helps), parking is tight so come early, and the counter gets crowded quickly. Pastries run a bit pricier than typical local bakeries but are widely judged on par with the best in Manila — and well worth it. The brand has grown to multiple Baguio locations (this Military Cut-Off branch has the widest selection; others include a Kisad shop on Bauang–Baguio Rd, a Leonard Wood Rd branch, and a newer Cariño St cor. Abanao Ext. location).
