After Grumpy Joe opened its bigger Upper Session Road flagship in late 2021, this location reopened and now operates alongside it, serving the same crowd-pleasing menu of American and Italian comfort food in generous, made-for-sharing portions. The headliners are the same: the Hawaiian-style Grumpy Joe Pizza and the cult-favorite 5-Cheese (and Aloha 5 Cheese) pizza, the best-selling Spicy Seafood Pesto pasta loaded with squid, shrimp, and mussels, GJ fried chicken, and flavored chicken-wing platters (honey garlic, baked parmesan, jalapeño cheddar, Jamaican jerk). This branch also carries a few pastas the flagship doesn't list — a Chorizo Shrimp pasta and a distinctive Truffle Pasta with Kiniing (Cordilleran smoked meat) — plus combo and rice meals, burgers, salads, sides like mojo fries and mozzarella sticks, and petite cakes. On arrival you register and staff personally escort you to your table, and reviewers love the food and the relaxed mansion setting, with friendly, attentive service. Like all Grumpy Joe branches, lines build at peak and parking is limited (it's on the busy road up to Mines View) — dine-in is the better experience. The Upper Session Road flagship operates separately.
