Good Taste is a Baguio institution and arguably the city's most-recommended cheap-eats destination — a sprawling, up-to-6-floor, cafeteria-style diner on Otek Street (corner Cariño, near Burnham Park's Rose Garden) that has fed generations of Baguio families and tourists with home-cooked-style Filipino and Chinese fusion food. Its legend rests on two things: rock-bottom prices and genuinely enormous servings — a good-for-4 can feed 6, and combo meals built for one easily fill two. The signature is the Good Taste Rice (steamed rice, fried chicken, pork, mixed vegetables, and a sunny-side-up egg on one plate), alongside crowd favorites like buttered and garlic-buttered chicken, crispy pata and crispy pork shank, Shanghai lumpia, the lechon-based vegetable dishes (lechon beans, lechon chopsuey), bulalo, sinigang, and big bowls of pancit, mami, and lomi. There's a full in-house bakeshop and cake counter (buko rolls, strawberry donuts, ensaymada, egg pie, mousse cakes), plus party trays for groups. Quirks and caveats worth knowing: it now runs a queuing system and there's often a long line at lunch and dinner (go early or off-hours), parking is cramped (underground and tight), there's no Wi-Fi, beer is served only within certain hours, and no outside food or drinks are allowed (corkage applies). The now-famous robot servers ferry food to your table. Note that the restaurant ended its long-running 24-hour operation in early 2026 — it now runs roughly 6 AM to 11 PM. The ambiance is no-frills, but for sheer value, variety, and that only-in-Baguio experience, it remains a must. There's a second branch at Magsaysay Avenue, behind Baguio Center Mall.
