Beans Talk Bistro is a cozy, semi-modern café-bistro on the second floor of the City Center Hotel along Session Road, open since 2013 and doubling as the hotel's in-house breakfast spot. It's a longtime favorite of locals, students, and tourists for affordable comfort food and a balcony that overlooks the energy of Session Road toward Burnham Park. The all-day menu spans Filipino and Western breakfasts (silogs, chicken & waffles, tiramisu French toast), shareable starters (pork sisig cups, tokwa't baboy, spinach & cheese dip), hearty mains and pastas (pork tonkatsu, beef stroganoff, baked lasagna, palabok aligue), sandwiches (banh mi pulled pork, smash burger), and a standout dessert case — its moist carrot cake is the must-try, alongside ube and strawberry cakes, French entremets, and sans rival. Drinks run from a full coffee lineup and fruit lemonades and frappes to local and international beer and classic and Filipino-named specialty cocktails (Hidlaw, Sinag, Hiraya), with relaxing jazz and live music on weekend nights. It's bright and air-conditioned, with a smoking-friendly veranda. A 5% service charge applies.
