Why it's worth the trip
Ely Buendia is the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of Eraserheads, the Filipino alternative rock band founded in 1989 at the University of the Philippines Diliman (per Wikipedia). Their 1993 debut, Ultraelectromagneticpop!, is credited with ushering in a second wave of Philippine rock bands.
In 1997, Eraserheads received MTV Asia's Viewer's Choice Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City — the only Philippine artist to have received it (per Wikipedia). Buendia later founded the independent record label Offshore Music in 2016. A jam-session format with this cast, in a Baguio venue, is a rare kind of intimate night for OPM fans.
