Baguio Teachers Camp (BTC), commonly called Teachers Camp, is a teachers training center and events venue along Leonard Wood Road, a recognized heritage site by the Baguio city government since 2005 and the national government since 2008. Conceived by Benguet Governor William F. Pack and opened in April 1908, it began as a tent encampment for about 150 public school teachers — the American Thomasites and Filipino teachers — with permanent halls and cottages built from the 1910s onward. Notably, the Philippine Military Academy was founded here in May 1936, and several buildings were damaged in WWII before being restored. Spread across roughly 23 hectares of Benguet pine forest, the camp is a tranquil landscape of well-kept lawns, flowering plants (a striking abundance of sunflowers in season), wooden bridges over gentle streams, and picnic tables, all linked by marked walking paths. Its enduring Folk Victorian halls — Benitez Hall, White Hall, Roxas Hall, and others — plus a museum and art gallery give it real heritage character. Today it still serves as the premier training and recreation center of the DepEd (home to NEAP), and visitors can walk the grounds for free or stay in its budget-friendly dormitories and heritage cottages.
