Scout Hill Playground is a free play area on the Scout Hill picnic grounds, one of the most popular family spots inside Camp John Hay. It is a free playground in a wide open space, where families come for a morning stroll, a picnic, or just some quiet under the pines on weekends — bring snacks, sunblock, and the kids. Scout Hill sits in the middle of the camp, surrounded by other attractions: picnic tables on the vast grounds, a go-kart area, cafeterias, mini golf, and the Butterfly Sanctuary are all nearby, and the beginner-friendly Yellow Trail (Forest Bathing Trail) starts just behind Scout Hill. It makes an easy, free addition to a Camp John Hay day out.
