The Easter Weaving Room is one of Baguio's oldest weaving centers, established in 1909 as an addition to the Easter School built two years prior by the Episcopalian (Anglican) Church, with the mission of preserving the Igorot way of weaving and giving Cordillera women a sustainable livelihood. Its looms were destroyed in WWII but it was re-established in 1948 by women who had worked there, and it now sits in a building separate from the (now) Easter College campus, accessible from the main road. Downstairs is the weaving room where you're free to watch the weavers on their looms; upstairs are two expansive floors of handmade goods for sale — handwoven fabrics, clothing, bags, table runners, accessories, slippers, and more, all made on the premises. They also take made-to-order native-inspired apparel. Watching the weavers and browsing the one-of-a-kind pieces makes it both a cultural stop and a great place for authentic pasalubong.
