The Baguio Public Market is the largest wet-and-dry market in Baguio City, operating daily from the early morning hours through the afternoon — a sprawling, chaotic maze of interconnected buildings that locals rely on for their daily shopping and visitors comb for souvenirs. It's divided into sections: a covered pasalubong and dry-goods building nearest Session Road; a vegetable and fruit section with Benguet highland produce at farm-gate prices; a meat and wet market at the back; and ukay-ukay stalls around the perimeter. This is where you'll find fond-memory pasalubong — fresh Benguet vegetables, strawberry and ube jams, and souvenirs like walis tambo and barrel-man figurines — plus peanut brittle, butter cookies, flowers, coffee beans, and traditional crafts. More than a tourist stop, it's a functional, beating part of Baguio daily life — and the single best place to taste and take home the region.
